Highways and Roading

We recommend stone crushers as the most cost-efficient means of maintaining or refurbishing gravel roads available, with cost savings of up to 80% of your current costs. Below are some of the stone crushers main tasks:

  • Skimming Roads – the rotor is dropped into the road approximately 25mm-50mm and removes corrugations and any larger stone which is exposed. The stone crusher will crush the material to 20mm and then spread it evenly back out behind the machine using the grader blade. This task can be performed at speeds between 1km to 4km per hour.
  • Road Refurbishment – we crush approximately 100mm-200mm deep and refurbish and shape the road back to original condition, recycling the existing material. This task can be performed at speeds of between 0.2km to 1km per hour.
  • Re-Sheeting – can be done by using the existing stone under the road base for material to build the road up, or we can cart material in from the closet borrow pit or quarry and spread on the road then mulch it. When re-sheeting we can also utilise any oversized material that has been pushed over the edge of the roads in the past by graders. This task can be performed at speeds between 0.5km to 1.5km per hour.
  • The stone crushers can crush rock up to 500mm in diameter, down to 70mm, at a rate of over 300 tonne per hour. The stone crusher can also be utilised for crushing base course on new roads, tidying up forestry roads, fire trails, mulching vegetation and rock in areas too rocky for a conventional mulcher.
  • Other applications include crushing concrete, tar seal, bricks, building blocks, tiles. In farming such as cropping scenarios and horticultural applications it can be used to crush rock in vineyards, fruit trees, olive groves etc. and to refurbish access tracks.

We can provide references, names and phone numbers of Councils and Government Departments that have used this machinery and will be happy to verify the cost savings and capability.
